Rome Beauty apples were discovered in 1820 as a chance seedling near Rome, Ohio. Though its parentage is unclear, Rome is known as the ‘baker’s buddy’ for its ability to retain its round shape and tangy flavor during cooking. Rome is also a favorite for cider, salads and fresh eating.
