Honeycrisp apples were discovered in 1960 at the University of Minnesota. Researchers crossed the Macoun and Honeygold apples to form this new variety. Honeycrisp wasn’t introduced to the commercial market until 1991. Since then, Honeycrisp apples have gained fame and notoriety for their unique flavor and exceptional crunch.

Stemilt harvests Honeycrisp apples in late September. It is one of the most sought after apples by consumers, and is best for fresh eating.
