Pear trees are typically in production for 50 to 75 years, although some trees still produce fruit after 100 years.
Stemilt pears come straight from the two of the world’s best growing locales - the Wenatchee River Valley and Entiat River Valley. Both locations are surrounded by high alpine mountains and pristine rivers that combine to provide the cool temperatures and high-quality air drainage that delicate pears need to thrive.
Couple these ideal orchard locations with our rich farming heritage and advanced pear ripening program, and you’ll know why Stemilt pears are considered ‘world famous.’ Our pear harvest begins in August and wraps up by mid-October. We grow a diverse mix of pear varieties, including classic favorites (Bartlett, d’Anjou, and Bosc) and specialty pears (Comice, Concorde, and Forelle).
