The Tosca pear variety comes from the Coscia and Williams pear varieties. It is grown extensively in Italy. Here at Stemilt, approximately 80 percent of our Tosca pears are farmed organically.

Tosca is one of the first pears to ripen each August. It has similar characteristics as well-known Bartlett pears. Tosca pears are excellent for fresh eating, salads, baking, and poaching.

Look for Tosca pears under the Artisan Organics and Stemilt labels from mid-August to mid-September each year.
