Super Green Smoothie with Sweet Apples

Ingredients

  • 1 Stemilt Fresh Blenders Sweet Apples, cored and quartered
  • 2 large leafy green kale leaves, center ribs removed and leaves roughly torn (about 1 cup firmly packed)
  • 1 cup fresh baby spinach, firmly packed
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons ground golden flaxseed
  • 1 kiwi fruit, peeled and halved
  • 2 medjool dates, center seeds removed, halved
  • 2 slices honeydew melon (2” thick), rinds removed, quartered
  • 4-inch length English cucumber, quartered
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup water, as preferred for consistency

A cool, refreshing smoothie chock full of good-for-you “greens” that impart great anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

Instructions

  1. Add apple, then kale, spinach, ice, flaxseed, kiwi, melon, cucumber, and water to pitcher of high-speed electric blender (one suitable for crushing ice and handling firm textures).
  2. Blend on high (or use “smoothie” option, if applicable) for approximately 1 minute. (If necessary, stop machine intermittently to scrape down sides or press ingredients down to remove any air pockets that might impede blending.)
  3. Pour into glasses and serve immediately.
