The Best Spring Drinks

|

If you could only drink one beverage for the rest of your life (omitting the obvious – water), what would it be?

I was recently asked that question and I had to pause – what would it be? I asked my husband the same question and he struggled to answer just as much as I did. There are too many good beverages out there to choose just one.

Before you decide to answer that question in the comments below, I wanted to share a few of our favorite drinking concoctions. From kombucha, to Sangria and cherry mocktails, there is something here for everyone! See below for a round-up of our favorite best spring drinks we will be sipping on this spring.

Apple Spice Cinnamon Kombucha – Heather Hands of Flourishing Foodie took on the task of making her own kombucha and we CANNOT GET ENOUGH. If you’ve had kombucha before, you are probably aware of the probiotics it contains. Probiotics are great for your body, specifically for your digestive system, and can be found in many fermented foods, like yogurt, sauerkraut or kefir. What I like about this recipe is that Heather teaches you how to make this kombucha at home. Whipping up your own batch not only allows you to have kombucha on deck, but it is also a great opportunity to loop the kids in and make it into a family science project. They can learn how foods ferment and watch the process unfold in the comfort of their own kitchen.

Sangria – Take me back to Spain! This one is for those who are 21+. Sangria is a mixed alcoholic beverage that originated in Spain. It consists of wine, fruit, juice (or some other type of non-alcoholic mixer), and a type of liqueur. It is usually served cold, however you can also enjoy it warm – I’ve had it both ways and personally prefer it cold. Meg van der Kruik of This Mess Is Ours seems to be our queen of sangria because she has created two different sangria recipes for us. The first – an Apple Ginger Sangria –  is perfect for a hot spring or summer afternoon. It is refreshing, quick to make, and only calls for a handful of ingredients including one delicious Piñata® apple. Meg also used Pinata® apples for this Apple & Berry Rosé Sangria. It calls for berries, your favorite Rosé and about 10 minutes of your time.

Cherry Margarita & Cherry Mocktail – The summer season means it’s World Famous Cherry season, and time to make a Cherry Margarita or Cherry Mocktail. Personally, I am a fan of tequila, so margaritas tend to be a drink of choice for me. When a good tequila is paired with fresh World Famous Stemilt dark-sweet cherries – boy, oh boy, is this momma happy. This margarita is like many others with the basic ingredients – triple sec, lime juice, a smidge of agave nectar. However, to add a personal touch, we mixed in a bit of orange seltzer to give this drink a little fizz. Add in the juice of a couple of cherries and this margarita is quite delish. Aren’t sure? Then you better try it for yourself! If you rather enjoy a refreshing mocktail, just omit the triple sec and tequila and voila! A delicious refreshing drink that  all ages can enjoy.
