The pear aisle just got a glow-up! Happi Pear® is a green pear that’s sweet, with a bright and zesty bite. Happi Pear® is all about offering a different pear eating experience with its unexpected bite. It’s sweet in flavor, optimistic in nature, and the fruit for every smile™.
Parentage
Happi Pear® is a cross-between Harrow Sweet and NY10353 pears, creating an aesthetically pleasing fruit with red blush. The pear was developed through natural cross-pollination methods at Vineland Research and Innovation Centre in Ontario, Canada and is non-GMO.
When Is Happi Pear® Ready To Eat?
What makes this pear so enjoyable is that it can be eaten when its green or yellow, it’s up to you! A green Happi Pear® will be crisp and juicy, while a yellow one will be softer and very juicy. It you ask us, it tastes best sliced fresh on a charcuterie board or snack plate. However you enjoy Happi Pear®, it’s there to bring you happiness in life’s smile-filled moments.
How Do You Store It?
Happi Pear® will remain fresh (and happy) longer if kept in the refrigerator. If you are waiting for the pear to ripen from green to a cheery yellow, keep the fruit at room temperature.

We start Happi Pear® harvest along with other pear varieties in September. Currently, its available from September through November.

Happi Pear® comes from our pear orchards planted in the Wenatchee and Entiat River valleys where they thrive from nutrient-rich soils, fed only the best ingredients to create a sweet pear with a bright and zesty bite. With multiple days of sunshine and experienced growers helping these Pears thrive, it’s no wonder it brings a smile to anyone’s day.
Modern Orchards
We grow Happi Pear® like apples, in modern, high-density plantings on trellis systems. Happi trees like to spread their limbs so we’ve given them the perfect set up to do so. This way of growing allows the fruit consistent exposure to sunlight, promoting a rich, buttery flavor.
For Ripeness & Flavor
Happi harvest begins anywhere from late August to early September, when the fruit is mature. From orchard to table, each Happi Pear® is carefully picked to ensure the sweetest, most satisfying snacking experience.
