Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In a separate medium-sized bowl whisk together milk, eggs, melted butter, vanilla and apple.
  4. Fold the wet ingredient mixture into the dry mixture until just combined. Don’t over stir.
  5. Put the dough into a pipping bag. If you don’t have a piping bag, spoon the dough evenly into the pan.
  6. Spray the donut pan with cooking spray. Pipe the dough into each donut round in the pan.
  7. Place in the oven and bake for 7 to 8 minutes. Remove from oven and allow the donuts to cool.
  8. Melt the extra 4 Tablespoons of butter and pour onto a plate.
  9. Combine sugar and cinnamon onto a separate plate.
  10. Remove the donuts from the pan.
  11. Dunk each side of the donut into the butter then the cinnamon sugar to coat the donut.
  12. Repeat with the remaining donuts until all are topped with cinnamon sugar.
  13. Drizzle the donuts with caramel and top with diced apples. Serve warm.
