  • 1/4 small cantaloupe, rind removed, quartered
  • 5 to 6 large strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1/2 large ripe banana, peeled
  • 2 to 4 fresh mint leaves
  • 1/4 cup water, if necessary, to loosen

Instructions

  1. Add apple, then romaine, ice, carrot, ginger, cantaloupe, strawberries, banana, mint, and water (if necessary) to pitcher of high-speed electric blender (one suitable for crushing ice and handling firm textures).
  2. Blend on high (or use “smoothie” option, if applicable) for approximately 1 minute. (If necessary, stop machine intermittently to scrape ingredients from sides, or press ingredients down to remove any air pockets that might impede blending.)
  3. Pour into glasses and serve immediately.
