4 Thanksgiving Stuffing Recipes

|

Granny Smith ApplesMy husband thinks it’s a little odd, but Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I like the simplicity of it. Just the idea of gathering around a table, eating a big meal, and conversing with your loved ones is such a simple and amazing thing. I am a very fast-paced person, so I enjoy the slow speed of the day. The gathering in the kitchen, the cooking and conversing, and just being together. It may sound meek, but I believe there is so much beauty in the concept of Thanksgiving. It’s a time where we should all reflect and just be grateful that we are here, together.

While being together is the most important part, what brings everyone around the table is the food! I have always been a fan of Thanksgiving sides. Don’t get me wrong, turkey is great, but when it is paired with mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, sweet potato casserole, and stuffing – oh, it’s just amazing.

While it’s difficult to bring yourself to change up the classic side options, like mashed potatoes or green bean casserole, I am always open to trying different stuffing options. Whether you make your stuffing from scratch (bravo to you, very impressive) or relying on boxed stuffing (like me), I have four different stuffing recipes that our friend, Chelsea from A Duck’s Oven created.  All of them feature one of our World Famous apple varieties, but then Chelsea adds something a little special into each. Check them out below!

Apple Pecan Stuffing – This Apple Pecan stuffing doesn’t stray too far from a classic stuffing recipe. The only difference is that it adds the savory flavor of Stemilt’s World Famous Granny Smith apples, along with the crunch of some tasty pecans.

Apple, Bacon & Herb Stuffing – If it has bacon in the name, I am all for it. With savory bites of bacon, chunks of Granny Smith apples, and the classic lineup of Thanksgiving spices, this stuffing recipe will have you going for seconds in no time flat.

Sourdough Stuffing with Granny Smith Apples – If you are a sourdough lover, then this one is for you. Instead of using regular bread cubes in your stuffing, substitute with sourdough bread cubes for a delicious, savory twist. This recipe also features Granny Smith apples and tasty spices, making this stuffing recipe an annual tradition. Sourdough stuffing in a bowl with a granny smith apple beside it.

Caramelized Onion & Gala Apple Stuffing – I don’t know about you, but this is the one I plan on making for Thanksgiving. The recipe has caramelized onions (yum), our World Famous Gala apples, and sourdough bread pieces. Now, that is a flavor combination that will make those taste buds dance.
