Apple Walnut Cake

Hello readers! My name is Katie and I am the newest addition to the amazing The Stem blog. I recently joined the Stemilt team where I get to fulfill my love of writing and food every day! I am most excited to be a part of such a talented group of bloggers. Just like them, I LOVE all kinds of food – the good, the bad, and every once in awhile the really good, that’s not so good for you.

I graduated from Washington State University (Go Cougs!) with an English degree. I have always loved to write and I have taken that passion and merged it with my some of my other passions – food, exercise, and health.

Although I try to live my healthiest, I STRONGLY believe that life is a working balance, and it’s important that everyone indulges from time to time. And this is one of those times.

Nothing says comfort food like cinnamon, apples, and a savory crust. At least in my house anyway. Whenever my husband and I are craving something sweet, we usually turn to some type of baked good as a dependable solution to cure our salivating taste buds.

One easy and delicious recipe that always fits the bill is Apple Walnut Cake. With the divine flavor of cinnamon, the slight crunch of the walnuts, and the scrumptious bite of fresh apples (Pink Lady® in this case), you can’t go wrong with any part of our adaptation of this cake from Tastes of Lizzie T. And another added bonus: it is easy to make.

This apple walnut cake would be an excellent addition to an Easter menu, either for brunch or dessert after an early dinner. Whether you are enjoying a piece with a cup of coffee late morning or you are savoring it in the early evening accompanied with a glass of cold milk, I consider this recipe a win-win for everybody’s recipe book.
