Richly Sweet with a Silky Finish
Comice pears were first cultivated in the mid-1800s near Angers, France. The formal name for this pear variety is Doyenné du Comice. In the 1900s, the first red sports were discovered to be growing in orchards near Medford, Oregon.
Comice pears may be small in size, but they are not short on flavor. They are one of the sweetest and juiciest of all pear varieties.
